Salt In My Soul, An Unfinished Life
Book Tour & Panel Discussion
On March 14, 2019, the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in collaboration with Penn GHHS will host Mark Smith and Diane Shader Smith, parents of the late Mallory Smith, to share the story of their daughter’s life published in Salt In My Soul, An Unfinished Life. The book, set to be released on March 12, 2019, promises to share Mallory’s compelling and inspiring story as a young woman, with a gift for writing, who was both coping with the struggles of her illness, cystic fibrosis, and learning of herself as a human being before her untimely passing in 2017.
All proceeds from the book’s sales will be donated to phage therapy research, which was a major consideration in Mallory’s care before she passed away from a multi-drug resistant infection after undergoing bilateral lung transplantation.
Please join us in sharing and appreciating Mallory’s heroic story by attending our Salt In My Soul, An Unfinished Life Book Tour Panel Discussion on March 14, 2019 from 5-6:30PM in Law Auditorium, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments will be served.
